A Note about the High Cost of Al-Kafi

Dear Readers,

This note is in response to the e-mails we have been receiving concerning the high cost of Al-Kafi texts.

The Islamic Seminary has long been the recipient of generous grants from the Alavi Foundation based in NY. Since the seizure of its assets by the Government, we have suffered serious setbacks in our efforts to complete publishing of these texts. The Alavi Foundation had promised to help pay for the cost of publishing Al-Kafi and other resources. We depend greatly on the contributions of the Foundation to proceed with the complete publishing of Al-Kafi. These publications would then be made available at more affordable costs to reader.

Currently, we are printing these materials on demand, one set at a time. This is the only option available to us to make these texts available at this time..

Like many other Islamic Organizations in the United States, we are dependent on the Foundation's continual support, especially to continue these projects. We request that everyone play their part in supporting this charitable community asset.

It is an honor, by the grace of Allah, most Blessed, most High, and a privilege for us to present to Mu’minin for the first time, the English translation of all eight volumes of Kitab al-kafi along side its Arabic text, in printed form, in a limited edition only. We pray to Allah, most Blessed, most High, to make this invaluable treasure of the legacy of ’A’immah ‘Alayhim al-Salam, find its place in the cherished private library of every English speaking family of Mu’minin, may Allah protect them against the wicked plots of Satan in the form of devils and human beings.

These books physically look beautiful, however the beauty inside their contents in their magnificence excel all applauds and admirations. One can easily find proof for such beauty in the selected narrations from our Imams, which are provided in the beginning of each volume. Under a heading called ‘Facts one must know before the study of Hadith’ (narrations of guidance from our Imams, ‘Alayhim al-Salam)
